Hello and Welcome to our Year 5 class page!
Year 5 is a really hard working, but fun class to be in. We learn about lots of exciting topic like Vikings, Space and Frida Kahlo to name a few. We enjoy a wide range of exciting activities, which celebrate the many gifts, talents and interests of the children in class. We strive to do our best at all times, no matter the challenge.
Mr Noy is the class teacher and Mrs Unsworth is our fantastic teaching assistant working with us throughout the week.
Our music lesson is on Tuesday afternoons, Ms Hynes teaches us our Modern Foreign Languages on Wednesday mornings, and Mr Perkins teaches us PE on a Thursday.
The spellings that we are focussing on in school during the week will be sent home on a Friday, this gives you time to get to know them and have a practice so that we can use them confidently in our work.
Homework.
Each week, children need to have completed at least three Reading Plus activities before Monday. We also encourage children to read at home from a book for their own pleasure and enjoyment. This can then be signed, by a parent or guardian, in the child's diary and will be rewarded with dojos!
Children should also aim to have scored at least 500 points on Mathletics (or 20 minutes- whichever comes first), which can be achieved through either assigned activities or through tasks the children have chosen themselves.
PE lessons are on Thursdays so come to school in your PE kit, with a water bottle.
