Reception

A big, warm welcome to all!

In Reception our class teacher is Mrs. Evans. Mrs. Rigby is our main learning support assistant. Miss Gorman and Miss Leppoja are our extra classroom support assistants.

Your child's learning journey with us

We love to experience, play and learn at the same time, so our classroom never lacks fun and excitement! It's how we learn best!

We do PE on Wednesdays with Mrs. Vose, and Mrs. Hurst teaches us Music on Tuesdays too.

Children will take part in daily phonics lessons (LittleWandle), Literacy lessons, Reading practice sessions, Maths and our favourite time of day… Story Time! We also enjoy our other topics that include developing skills in History, Art, Design Technology, Science and Geography. We follow our new RE curriculum, 'Getting to Know You More Clearly'; where we enjoy listening to and learning from stories in the Bible. Everything that we do in our learning has RE threaded through it.

Home support

Learning that your child does at home and school work hand in hand to ensure they reach their full potential. We ask that you read with your child for 10 minutes, three times a week please. Further support with handwriting, reading, and Mathematics can be given upon request too. We are happy to help!

Uniform

PE kits must be worn on Wednesday's children will remain in them all day. Please remember to bring warmer clothes in bad weather!

The children will enjoy P.E lessons with Mrs Vose on a Wednesday afternoon and Little Gems session in the hall with their Year 6 buddies on a Friday. Every term we also take part in Dance lessons on a Monday.

Please ensure names are written/stuck inside all of your child's uniform. They will need a coat EVERY day!

Tuck shop/ Snack/ Water

Every Tuesday afternoon the children are able to purchase biscuits from our tuck shop at 50p each as part of their afternoon snack with milk (if purchased)

All our EYFS children will have access to fresh fruit for snack and water to drink throughout the day. Those who purchase milk termly can enjoy this too. Letters are sent home for milk as a new term starts.

If you have any questions, please contact me through Class Dojo.

Thankyou,

Mrs Evans
