Welcome to Year 3

Hello and Welcome to our Year 3 class page!

Year 3 is a really hard working, fun class to be in. We enjoy a wide range of exciting activities, which celebrate the many gifts, talents and interests of the children in class. We strive to do our best at all times, no matter the challenge.

Mrs Hitchen and Miss Ijaz are the class teachers and  Mrs Monaghan is our fabulous teaching assistant working with us throughout the week, we are also very excited to have Miss Hynes with us each morning. Mrs Hitchen teaches in class on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and Miss Ijaz teaches on Monday and Tuesday.

Mr Ijaz  teaches RSHE  on Wednesday morning, Ms Hynes teaches us our Modern Foreign Languages on Tuesday afternoon, and Mr Perkins teaches us PE on a Thursday morning. Mrs O'Neill will be teacher us music on Wednesday morning after the October half term.

Each week, children need to have completed at least three Reading Plus activities before Monday. We also encourage children to read at home from a book for their own pleasure and enjoyment. This can then be signed, by a parent or guardian, in the child's diary and will be rewarded with dojos!

Children should also aim to have scored at least 500 points on Mathletics, which can be achieved through either assigned activities or through tasks the children have chosen themselves.

PE lessons are on Thursday this half term and the and the children need to come into school wearing their PE kit, they will also need to remember to bring a full water bottle to school. We begin swimming lessons in February and enjoy multi skill activities half termly on Monday afternoon, Mrs Hitchen will let parents and children know when we need to come to school in PE kit for this.

Lunches

Our lunch time begins at 12.30, which is a bit later than it was in the infants so a morning snack and a water bottle is essential! Unless you are bringing a packed lunch, lunches must be ordered at home.

You need a coat EVERY day!

Things will be a little different this year now you're in the juniors, but you are in for a fantastic year!

Any questions please contact us through Class dojo or the school office.

Take care.
