I am delighted to welcome you to St Mary and St John Catholic Primary School.
Our website aims to give you a taster of our school, as well as providing regular updated information for both parents and pupils. We hope that you will find it interesting and informative.
Our school serves the two Catholic Parishes of St. Mary’s and St. John’s(now called St William's Parish) within the Archdiocese of Liverpool and Wigan Local Authority. We are a single form entry school and currently have 210 pupils on roll. I speak for the children, parents and staff when I say how proud we are of our school.
We have a reputation for being an 'outstanding' school and this has been recognised by both Ofsted (March 2023) and Liverpool Archdiocese Schools Department (Sept 2019).
It is our continuing aim to promote high standards of pupil achievement, and we are delighted to be able to celebrate our pupils’ consistently high-ranking performance in the national tests for both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils.
Although we consistently focus on enabling our children to reach their academic potential, this is within a loving and supportive Catholic ethos and environment, where the development and achievement of the whole child is nurtured and celebrated.
We pride ourselves on having a caring and welcoming atmosphere developing effective home/school partnerships with our families.
Our mission statement is our ethos and permeates through everything we do:
'In the Light of Jesus, We Learn to Shine'.
With regards,
Mrs Vose
Headteacher
